The GCI Relay Bike Shop and Run Store Relay Challenge

Welcome to the GCI Relay Challenge:

Calling out to Gulf Coast Bike Shops, Tri Shops and Run Stores!

We love our local shops and the events, teams and communities they support.  The GCI Relay course spans through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.  With so many quality shops along the Gulf Coast, we think it’s time to bring them all together for a friendly competition to prove their awesomeness on the road.

April 5-7^th 2013, marks the inaugural Gulf Coast Interstate Relay, the most special of it’s kind, featuring two events and crossing four states, and celebrating the heritage and community of the Southeast’s brilliant Gulf Coast.

From Louisiana to Florida, 268 miles, 22 bridges, one weekend, and a chance to conquer the longest relay in the South, the GCI Relay team invites your store to take the challenge for the chance to prove that your team is indeed the best around.

Here is your mission, should you choose to accept it:  this is a call to action to meet your competitors, talk a little smack, and maybe even get some well deserve recognition when you cross the finish line first!  The fastest bike shop cycling team and the fastest run store running team will bring home the bacon.  What is the bacon?  A huge Tiki trophy, hand-carved by the talented Charlie Knight of Palm Tiki in Gulf Breeze, FL.  The winning team’s name will be carved into it and presented to the shop to keep for one year.

Each year, the trophy will again be up for grabs and will be awarded to the winning shop for proud display.  Here’s your chance to bring it!  Join us this spring, where finishing first drives your store to victory!
